St. Sava Church celebrated its Patron Saint on Sunday, January 25, 2009. After the Divine Liturgy, Fr. Petar cut the Slava Bread in St. Sava Church Hall at 12:30 p.m. He prayed for Kumovi Vojkan and Maja Topalovic and their son Marko, the Sunday School children and for all the faithful of St. Sava parish. Dejan and Ljilja Miskovic with their family accepted to become Kumovi for the Year of 2010. St. Sava Church Choir opened the program with the American and Serbian anthems. Sunday School Children led by their teachers Jovana Radovic, Sandra Klein and Ljilja Miskovich presented a beautiful program. Musical backup was done by Marko Djoric and Radoslav Manic. The program was completed by dancers of the folk group "Kalemegdan", led by their choreographer Milica Markovic. All in attendance were entertained by Rajko Tomic Orchestra with the guest singer Zoran Kalezic. Delicious food was cooked by chef Dragica Todorovich and the cooking crew. We would like to thank all our Sunday School teachers, led by Shari Blagojevic and Jovana Radovic, and all parents for their dedication and desire to give a proper education in Orthodoxy and Serbian culture to their children.Sunday school classes are held every Sunday after the Church Service at 11:15 a.m.

Hristos Vaskrse! Svake godine, draga braco i sestre, cekamo radosno
da nas svestenik kad izadje na Uskrs kroz carske dveri pozdravi sa
Hristos Vaskrse!
Na Uskrs dozivljavamo slavu i svetost dana. Slusamo slavnu Hristovu poruku!
Na Uskrs je Bog sva obecanja ispunio. Hristos je dosao! On je smrcu
smrt pobedio! Doneo nam je kroz Sveto Vaskrsenje zivot vecni! On je
porusio sve prepreke koje ruse slogu medju ljudima i sve prepreke koje
stoje izmedju coveka i Boga.
Uskrs nas upucuje da razmisljamo kako bi svet lepo izgledao izmiren sa
sobom i Bogom. Ne bi bilo ratova, sukoba, sile nad slabima, rascepa
medju generacijama, razbijene porodice... Izmirenje donosi mir i
ljubav, osecanje da svaki covek vidi sebe u drugom, i da je svaki
jedan u Bogu. To je velika poruka uskrsnja i ove godine, koju treba da
primenimo u svom zivotu da bismo imali zivot vecni.

Christ is Risen! Each year dear brothers and sisters, as the date
of Easter comes, we await in our churches for the joyous moment when
the priest comes through the royal door and makes the great
announcement that Christ is Risen! What a glorious and most holy day!
What a glorious message of Christ!
On Easter all promises of God have been fulfilled: Christ has come! He
has crushed death through His death. He brought to us everlasting life
through His Resurrection. He has broken down the barriers among
ourselves, and the barriers between man and God.
Imagine the whole world reconciled: No more wars, conflicts,
superiority over the other, gaps between generations, broken homes,
etc. It is the Reconciliation that brings peace and love, feelings of
being one with every man, and one with God. And that is the glorious
message of every Easter to be applied to our lives.

Obavestavamo vas da ce Njegovo Preosvestenstvo, nas Episkop, Dr Maksim sluziti Svetu Arhijerejsku liturgiju u crkvi Sv. Save, 12. aprila 2009., (na Cveti) s pocetkom u 10 sati. Molimo vas da toga dana dodjete u sto vecem broju u 9:45 a.m., da bismo svecano docekali naseg episkopa. Posle svete sluzbe i nedeljnog rucka, umesto ranije najavljenog profesora dr Boska Bojovica sa univerziteta Sorbone, predavanje ce odrzati Njegovo Preosvestenstvo, nas Episkop, Dr Maksim (bivsi student sa Sorbone), na temu Hristovog pitanja : "Sta kazu ljudi o meni - ko sam Ja". Predavanje profesora Bojovica na temu: "Srbija danas", bice odrzano posle Uskrsa, o cemu cete biti blagovremeno obavesteni. Neka su vam blagosloveni dani Uskrsnjeg posta.
