Dobrotvorna Večera u domu Milana Panića - 1. Oktobar, 2011 god.
U subotu 1. oktobra odrzana je dobrotvorna vecera sa pocetkom u 6 sati, za izradu mozaika u Hramu Svetoga Save (kompozicija koja prikazuje Uspenje Presvete Bogorodice), u velelepnoj rezidenciji Milana i Milene Panic, u Pasadeni. Veceri je prisustvovalo 85 najuspesniji ljudi raznih profila i zanimanja iz parohije Svetoga Save i iz kompanije gospodina Panica ukljucujuci i njegove licne prijatelje. Posle vecere priredjen je veoma uspesan program koji je izvela grupa talentovanih umetnika, koji zive i rade u Juznoj Kaliforniji. Program je vodila Jelena Jovanovic, cerka prote Petra i protinice Ljiljane Jovanovic.
Na kraju programa, prota Petar Jovanovic, staresina Crkve Svetog Save, pozdravio je sve prisutne i zahvalio se na prilozima. Istovremeno, zahvalio se i domacinima na ukazanom gostoprimstvu i ljubavi prema Crkvi Svetog Save. Prota Petar kazao je u govoru da je svaki covek dar Bozji i da je pozvan da stvara i umnozava darove Bozje kroz razne aktivnosti ljudskog duha, dodavsi da “kao sto se medicina sa kojom Milan radi stara o zdravlju ljudskog tela, i mi svestenici se staramo o zdravlju ljudske duse”.
U nasoj parohiji u San Gabrijelu, podigli smo divan Hram Svetom Savi, zacetniku nase kulture i crkve. Ovaj hram krasi divan mozaik, kao najstariji oblik tradicionalne hriscanske umetnosti. Svaki mali kamen mozaika ima svoju boju i lepotu. Kad se svi poredjaju zajedno, otkrivaju jedinstvo umetnickog lika i duhovne zajednice. Kroz mnostvo malih kamencica i boja mozaik predstavlja jedinstvo duha u razlicitosti nasega sveta.
Zahvaljujuci prilozima svih prisutnih na ovoj dobrotvornoj veceri, bice omoguceno da se zavrsi deo mozaika koji je posvecen Presvetoj Bogorodici. Prota Petar se zahvalio Milanu i Mileni na velikoj pomoci i podrsci i tom prilikom im poklonio ikonu Svetoga Save.
U odgovoru, gospodin Milan Panic je naveo da mu je veoma drago da je dobio ikonu Svetoga Save na dar i podsetio je prisutne da je rodjen pored Hrama Svetoga Save na Vracaru, u Beogradu. Zatim je obavestio sve prisutne da je ova dobrotvorna vecera bila uspesna i da je prikupljeno $160,000. Svi prisutni su to radosno pozdravili velikim aplauzom. Porodica Panic se zatim slikala sa ikonom Svetoga Save, sa protom Petrom i mnogim ostalim gostima.

Aktivnosti Nedeljne Skole
Zahvaljujemo se deci koja su bila deo nedeljne sluzbe i pevala zajedno sa crkvenim horom: Ana Lugue, Nikolina i Anastasija Colic i Jovan Miskovic koji je, kao i svake nedelje, pomagao ocu Petru. Nakon liturgije, deca su zajedno sa Protinicom Ljiljanom Jovanovic i uciteljicama Nedeljne skole u kuhinji ucila da prave Slavski kolac.

Dear Parents, our Sunday School was open on Sunday, September 13, 2009. Children attended Divine Liturgy and a prayer for the beginning of the school year at 10:00 a.m. After the church service all children and teachers were photographed for the 100-year Anniversary of St. Sava Church year book, to be published next year

Drago mi je što nastavljamo lepo druženje uz pesmu i igru. Nedeljna skola Sv. Sava se trudi da svake godine svoje đake daruje novim saznanjima o srpskoj Pravoslavnoj veri, sprskom jeziku ,duhovnoj i svetovnoj srpskoj muzici.

SAN GABRIEL - Lent began today for members of the Eastern Orthodox Christian faith, who will now embark on seven weeks of fasting and purification in preparation for Easter. Vidovdan – Kosovo Charity Banquet
The Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Western America sponsored a special commemoration of Vidovdan and Kosovo Charity Banquet at the St. Sava Church of San Gabriel, held on Saturday, June 21, 2008.
His Grace Serbian Bishop Dr. Maxim hosted his brothers in Christ, His Grace Antiochian Bishop Joseph, His Grace Bishop Longin of Gracanica Metropolitan, and His Grace Bishop Teodosije of Lipljan and Abbot of Decani Monastery. Bishop Teodosije was also the main guest- speaker.
The second guest-speaker at this event was an author and a political analyst, Dr. Serge Trifkovic.
California Agricultural Leadership- Program at St. Sava Church of San Gabriel
On November 18, 2008 St. Sava Church was honored to host 26 members of the California Agricultural Leadership. Their visit was organized by Dr. Peggy S. Perry of Cal Poly Pomona University and V. Rev. Father Petar Jovanovic, rector of St. Sava Church.
The group arrived at the Church at 3:30m p.m. Mr. Jon Reelhorn, the President of Belmont Nursery Inc. introduced the group that included California farmers, ranchers and vine growers from across the state.

The first step in building St. Sava church began by forming a construction committee, on April 12, 1981. The committee consisted of father Petar Jovanovic, John Pecel, William Radulovich, Petar Kujundzich, Nick Kavic, Stanley Vukoje, Nick Pekovich, George Gustovich and Daniel Pavich. Petar Kujundzich was elected to be the chair person for the committee and in charge of overviewing the building of the church.
